It isn’t surprising to come across luxurious materials such as marble and quartz at DesignMiami/, but one company will be elevating those materials with the help of designer Arik Levy. COMPAC, the Surfaces Company, has updated marble and quartz to improve their technical performance and sustainability. Having celebrated its 40th anniversary last year, the Spanish company has invited Levy to create a special installation in Miami this year.

For ICE, the Israeli artist and designer expresses the potential of the Genesis collection he has created for COMPAC. The visually striking materials are inspired by frozen lakes from the Arctic, which evoke the textures and patterns of natural stone. For DesignMiami/, Levy has arranged the slabs vertically and horizontally to showcase various applications of the Genesis collection.

ICE by Arik Levy for COMPAC, the Surfaces Company, will be on view at DesignMiami/ from November 30 – December 4.
